April Tag

Hello Everyone, hope you are well,

I have had a very lucky week this week! first I found out I was one of the pinworthies over at
A Vintage Journey with The Secret Garden and just as I had stopped dancing around the room with happiness about that, I find that my Industrial Spring Butterfly also made the top three with
Country View Crafts - Phew! I am worn out with celebrating! Now I have finally come back down to earth I want to share my take on Tim's tag for April.  If you have not seen Tim's original yet you can see it HERE along with all the details for the challenge.  This month Tim's technique remix of combines Faux mosaic and Paint resist and here is my version.

I was undecided which stamp to use for my resist background, but decided the wallpaper would go well with the cracked pistachio and lucky clover colours I chose for the tag.
I don't have the mosaic kit that Tim used so I had to compromise with what I do have.  I took one of the 3" x 3" pieces from the new Dapper paper pad and chopped it into small pieces

I used the bigz Apothecary Bottles die to cut one the largest bottle and its stopper from Grunge card, covered it with texture paste and stuck the paper pieces into the paste in a mosaic pattern.
Next step was to glaze over the paper, I used  glossy accents for this step. The photo below shows it at the stage where it has not quite dried so it is still a little bit cloudy, when it is fully dry it is clear.

I distressed the edges of my smaller tag and inked it with Vintage Photo DI.

I used cork for the stopper base, the top of the stopper got the same mosaic treatment as the bottle.
I got my sewing machine out to zig zag at the top of the bottle so it looked like the arrow had just taken it right off. The Good Times are rub ons from the  life quotes set, and here I have also added a few mirrored stars.

I used a beer bottle label cut from one of the 12" x 12" sheets of matching Dapper Paper and wrapped it around the bottle.

More rub ons with Limited Edition and stars from the botanical set.  A painted number brad was added (4) for the month of April

And a last look from another angle at the completed tag

So there we have it, another tag completed to add to the 2016 collection.
Thank you for your dropping by today, your continued support and of course your lovely comments
I really do appreciate them all.
