Blue Christmas

Hi Everyone,

Blue Christmas only in title not in how I feel, I feel great to be well on a roll with the 12 tags FJ style and today is no exception as I bring you my version of number 9.  To see my inspiration for this tag which was the beautiful blue colours, see Linda's original here at The Funkie Junkie .

The background for this card started off with me sponging through Tim's splatters stencil with picket fence distress paint, the intention was to have these as a resist, then for some reason I forgot I had to use the distress inks to get this effect and instead I swooshed the tag through a blue mix of distress stains, needless to say they did not resist quite as much as I had hoped, but anyway I carried on.  The next thing was to add a little brown so I went around the edges with Walnut stain, but was a bit heavy handed and made it too brown, so had to lift the colour off with water.

I decided to us white die-cut flowers (Creatables) to lift it a little and silver glittered leaves (tattered pine cone) I then used a mix of faded jeans and broken china DS on a mat swooshed through some paper and die-cut them with two rose swirl dies that were different sizes and made them into flowers.
I used perfect pearls on the tips of some of the flowers and around the bottom of the tag.

The sentiment is one I have had for a while, I think it was Crafty Individuals and it was stamped onto white card stock cut with Spellbinders die, inked with Faded Jeans and mounted onto music paper and glittered card cut with the same die set. I bordered the outer mount with perfect pearls.
If you want to be in with a chance of winning one of the three random drawn gift certificates to spend at The Funkie Junkie Boutique You need to complete all 12 tags by Jan. 8th, anyone who completes the challenge on time and meets all the requirements will get a 10% coupon . But you must meet all the requirements shown here for each and every post.

Thank you as always for popping over at this very busy time of year, Hoping your Christmas preparations are going to plan (10 more sleeps).
