Butterfly Birthday Card

Hello everyone.
I am learning fast, and as you can see I have worked out how to get pictures the right way up!
I Just wanted to show you a Birthday card I have just made for my friend.  She took a shine to my canvas on my first post so I used the same colours.  Firstly I spritzed with Dylusions Vibrant Turquoise and London Blue and stamped with the Zentangle Butterfly stamp from Woodware, randemly with black archival. To add some extra detail I used a lid off a bottle to stamp a few white rings with acrylic paint, added a few stripes of black archival using the edge of a ruler then spritzed over the whole lot with tattered angels  Iridescent gold spray.   I sewed this to a card base with gold thread (with my machine may I add, My hand sewing is not that neat!).  I stamped the same butterfly on a separate piece of card that had been previously spritzed and cut it out.  I added some extra detail with gold and white pens and a few pearls and gems.  I die-cut the flower from gold card with creatables die, glued it on to a piece of fine sequin waste and trimmed it to fit. The sentiment from the same set, was stamped onto previously spritzed card and mounted onto the gold card and again it is difficult to see from the picture, but I did some of my own zentangle drawing to tie it in with the butterfly.  The 24 numbers were from a jar full of letters and numbers given to me by my friend Anne bollyanne.blogspot.com who had cut them out from her new Tim Holtz Die (The sequin waste also came from Anne Thank you Anne xx).  They were inked with distress colours and embossed over the top.  I was quite pleased with the result, I  just hope my friend likes it.  Her birthday is not till Wednesday so I will let you know. Ta Ta for now xx

Hello everyone, so sorry I have not posted for a while, I promise I will get better.  Thank you to those of you who have left comments I really appreciated them.
Now Halloween is not generally my thing (far to scary!) but, I thought whilst it is that time of year I will have a go at a Halloween Tag and see how it goes - here is the result.
Sorry I have got you all turning your heads, but I am new to this and can't seem to turn it around.
I spritzed a tag with water and scrunched, dried and ironed it. Coloured the background with Mustard Seed/Spiced Marmalade and a little black distress. I used the same colours on another piece of card and stamped the owl image and the spider (both from Indigo Blu Hocus Pocus stamp set). I cut them out at different angles to match the corners of the tag and glued them on. The stitching was a shown to me by a friend of mine John Whittell pierce the edges of the toppers and using embroidery silk back stitch. I didn't have a Spooky stamp so I wrote this free hand on a small piece of card distressed as before and used eyelets on each side.  The cobwebby ribbon started life baby pink I have had this in my stash ages and it was one of those I wonder if moments, so out came the dylusions black ink and hey presto it worked. There were a couple of offcuts heading for the bin when I dropped them on the tag and it sort of looked right so I glued them there on the bottom left.  Right off to clear my desk for the next project see you soon.

Flowers from ink puddles

Today I was doing a bit of tidying up on my desk following the canvas project I made on yesterdays post.  I love mopping up any extra ink after spritzing with spare card and book pages first so I have interesting backgrounds for future projects, but then also with wet wipes which I then leave to dry and chomp through with my dies to make flowers etc.  Here as you can see I have done just that with my Tattered Florals die.

This is a simple but effective project that I did last year when the idea was featured in Craft Stamper magazine but on this project I used a couple of old linen napkins cut again with Tattered Florals and left to soak up ink puddles on the craft mat.  Once dried I just grouped them together and sewed a button through the centre of each one.  The mirror from a well known swedish furniture store was painted with blue acrylic paint.  the strips of card was from my stash of Craft resist papers and I wrapped garden twine around the flowers for a bit more rustic texture.  The  little bows were made out of the same twine.  Simple but effective.
Please leave a comment if you like any of my projects, I would love to hear from other crafty people, and I will read and reply to you all.
