Reindeer and Kingfishers?

Hello Everyone,

Have I confused you all with the title of this post? well read on and all will be revealed.  Last Monday my lovely friend Anne and her DH came down for a visit and after we suggested the boys go for a long walk:) me and Anne disappeared off to play in my little Craft room.

As usual Anne had brought lots of crafty goodies both for us to play with and a few gifts she had made for me - how lovely is this card Anne is the master of these accordion cards and the detail is amazing in this one.  Take a close look at the wording that is with the dragonfly it reads lifetime friends and I am sure we definitely will be.

We made a little note book each with the beautiful new 'Timmy' fabric , this one is mine

The photo on the right is a before and after with the metal name holder.  They were reduced to clear at 50p for 3 and as you can see the original was copper glitter when I bought it.  A little rubbing off of the glitter and fresh coat of black gesso left to dry and then tickled with treasure gold gave it a lovely old metal look - perfect to match my lovely note book.

Anne brought a couple of her new dies and I had her working hard die cutting me a few to play with. I have put a couple to use already and made this card with the gorgeous reindeer and Merry Christmas.  The Tattered pine cone has been given a mixed raffia bow, and the snowflakes are stamped onto acetate with white stayzon.  I don't do glitter, but I do like the sprinkle of frantage shaved ice on the top of the red.

I on the other hand was on melt pot duties.  I bought a resin owl from Indigo blu a while ago now and I fell upon a mould recently that would do the exact same owl but a little smaller plus with the added bonus of a kingfisher too (Anne will be smiling reading this as I spent all day calling them Woodpeckers!!) you know how it is when you get something in your head and it won't go away? they don't look anything like Woodpeckers.  I melted Lapis Sapphire UTEE in the melt pot and poured it into the mould.  Then Anne got to work with my Distress Paints and coloured them with the Spiced Marmalade, these are for a workshop I am doing later in the month, something for the ladies to add to their finished pieces.

We had a wonderful crafty few hours together plus a very enjoyable bite to eat at our newly refurbished local pub, all in all a lovely day - Thank you Anne x ps the boys enjoyed their long walk as well as a well deserved drink at the pub!
Hugs
Mo x
