Workshop Gallery and WOW! I've won

Hi Everyone,

I am jumping up and down with joy today as I have just found out my number came out first on the Indigo Blue challenge Forever 21 number 5 click here to check it out. My prize is some beautiful new Indigo Blu Stamps - I am so excited and as I explain at the bottom of this post, my 50th birthday was last week so how cool is it to win this month its like a belated birthday gift - perfect.
If you missed my post for the Summer Canvas have a nosey Here.

As well as entering it into this Challenge, I used it as a workshop project this last week for my lovely ladies to have a go and make their own.  I have taken a few photos of their version of it.

I am sure you will agree, the different colours and styles are lovely to see - well done ladies I am proud of you all your confidence is growing week by week.

It has been an eventful week this week, as I also turned 50 and received some beautiful hand made cards  as you can see from this photo.

Me and my Hubby enjoyed a lovely relaxing weekend away in the lake district, the weather was hot and sunny and just perfect to enjoy the cruise around Lake Windermere.

This weeks workshop at High Legh is our Tims Tags of 2013 June & July so I had better get organised.  As always Thank you for dropping by.

WOYWW 214

Hello Everyone,

I am so sorry my desk has been missing for a couple of weeks.  Today is a very very quick desk post (although that is the way Julia likes it)   because as per usual on a Wednesday I am dashing out to do my weekly workshops, but I will be back later to catch up with  as many of you fellow desk followers as I can.  Why?? would I be showing off my desk anyway?? click here to find out more.

This as you can see is work in progress making a special card for a special friend who I know will be snooping around the desks this morning, so I have tried not to give too much away.  I did my normal car boot snoop last week and at the back of the desk you can see some lovely big pearls and a brand new box of luxury dominoes just crying out to be altered for a grand total of £2.00 for the lot I know how many of you like a bargain!  also you can see a whopping big £1 sign on the pack of frames in the centre of the desk another less than half price bargain.
Right I am off for now, I hope you can join me on my decking in the sunshine with a glass of lemonade later.
Thanks as always for your visit.

Summertime Canvas

Hello Everyone
I do hope you are getting a chance to enjoy this beautiful weather we are having at the moment it has been a long time coming after months of rain and my garden is bloomin Great!.   Which leads me onto today's post - my entry for the latest Indigo Blu Challenge Summertime .
Now anyone that knows me will know that being a summer baby, birds, butterflies, flowers and just about anything to do with the summer and long hot sunny days is just up my street, so this canvas was a dream to do.

I used texture paste through a mask and then blended in three colours of acrylic paint to get some colour on the background.  Treasure gold picked up the detail of the texture paste.

I used the Indigo Blu Wild Meadow stamp mainly on all the canvas, using a contrasting darker turquoise acrylic paint to stamp the grasses and the swirls top and bottom, and also a little detail using sequin waste.  The top left hand corner was using Indigo Blu script stamp. White paint was then used over the Turquoise in some areas to add interest.

The top left hand corner started with a die-cut ring which was given a coat of texture paste and coloured with the paints.  It was then tickled with a little Treasure gold.

I stamped the butterfly onto stamping card and heat embossed it before colouring it in with my new Spectrum Noir pens, I have been practising hard with my blending techniques, and I think I am getting there.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set as before and this time it was stamped onto sticky backed canvas and edged in black to make it pop out. Top left also is a little piece of painted sequin waste.

In the bottom right we have one of the beautiful metal leaves from Creative Expressions.  which compliments my hand made flower.  This flower was not my invention, I learnt how to do this from Lindsay Mason when I saw her demonstrating the technique last year.  I love the effect and the flowers are really strong once dried so great to ink up.

To give a bit more texture I added some cream lace pieces and to take your eye over to the bottom right hand corner.

In the bottom right hand corner I was going to use the tissue technique to stamp my dandelion clocks onto but instead I decided to stamp onto acetate and cut out.

More sequin waste at the bottom and you can just see where I have used my favourite mask at the moment the ivy leaf to add more texture paste.  I decided to leave this white to give a more subtle effect.

Here you get a closer look at the top right hand corner where I have added a die cut bird (which I am sure needs no description) and again I gave him a coat of texture paste and a tickle of treasure gold.

As you can see I decided yet again to take the photos in my back garden , and the sun was shining brightly so perfect for the theme.

As always, thank you so much for dropping by, I hope you enjoy.

Craft Stamper Challenge

Hi Everyone,
I have been busy behind the scenes the last couple of days and wanted to share with you a project I have put together using embossing powders for the current Craft Stamper Challenge http://www.craftstamper.com/blog/using the embossing powder technique demonstrated by Birgit Koopsen on pages 30-31 of the July issue.

I used the Stampendous frantage distress embossing powders in Aged Aqua and Aged Ivory.  Firstly the whole heart was stamped with versamark and the aqua was placed in a few areas first, followed by the ivory in the remaining areas.

I used my ivy leaf mask (love this) and again pressed versamark through the mask.  I then scattered aged gold embossing powder over the area and heated it through........

......The close up on the left shows the flowers off a little better.  These were cut with The sissix Tattered flower garland decorative strip die then again they got the same treatment with the blue and aged ivory embossing powders, layering them up with alternate colours........

I used one of the Jo Firth Young stamp sets to stamp some sketched flowers onto the bottom and side of the heart in Black Stayzon.

The sentiment was stamped onto shrink plastic and shrunk down.
I used the Bird from one of my Indigo Blu stamps and coloured him in with pro-markers, he then was embossed over with a clear embossing powder to give him a similar finish to the rest of the heart.

Hope you like!

As always thank you for your visit
